The New Year is around the corner and this transitional time is perfect for nourishment, self-reflection, forgiveness, and connection.
It’s my annual end-of-the-year tradition to recommend 3 simple and meaningful things that encourage mindfulness and intentional action as you wrap up the year.
So, here you go! 3 things you need to do before 2025.
1. Start your day with warm lemon water.
Drinking warm lemon water first thing in the morning is a lovely hydrating ritual with the following potential benefits
Improves digestive health
Gives you a boost of vitamin C
Increases energy and alertness
Helps skin health
Can have a detoxifying effect
Supports immune function
How to: Squeeze the juice of half a lemon into a mug and add warm (not boiling) water. Drink on an empty stomach and wait about 20 minutes before your coffee, tea or breakfast for optimal benefits.
2. Forgive yourself.
Often when we do end-of-the-year self-reflection we tend to focus on what went wrong or what we didn’t accomplish. We may brood over an experience, which can contribute to anxiety and self-criticism. So, it’s time to forgive yourself. Forgiving yourself helps you improve your mental, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing which positively impacts your physical wellbeing.
Grab a pen and paper and write down, "I forgive myself for……" and give yourself 10 minutes of quiet time to journal and reflect.
3. Compliment a stranger.
A genuine compliment will brighten anyone’s day and make them feel recognized and appreciated. Compliments create ripples of positivity that include both the receiver and the giver. So when you’re out and about this week, be mindful of those around you and find ways to offer a sincere compliment!
I want to thank you for choosing to stay connected by following my work. I appreciate you and look forward to connecting in 2025.
Wishing you a festive season and Happy New Year!
Love, Your Wellness Coach,
Alyssa
