Last year I had a few experiences that were important self-growth opportunities and reminders to trust my instincts and intuition.
One difficult experience in particular was exacerbated by not communicating my needs clearly and honestly, which left me feeling discouraged, confused and disempowered. It was a painful reminder.
So, I am entering this new year with more clarity and a greater sense of self-empowerment.
If you’ve been struggling with self-limiting beliefs, or if you feel helpless in some areas of your life, it’s time to reclaim your power and honor your needs.
Take a few moments to reflect.
What does it mean to be empowered?
What makes you feel empowered?
Why is it important to empower yourself?
Self-empowerment is the belief in your ability to navigate life's challenges, to make meaningful choices, and to create positive change.
When you empower yourself, you are taking your life into your own hands and making choices that align with your authentic self. It’s about knowing your needs, desires, and goals and turning your intentions into inspired actions.
5 Ways To Empower Yourself
1. Check In With Yourself
Intentionally take time each day to check in with yourself. Where are your thoughts, are they serving you? Do you need to breathe? Drink water? Call a friend? Making it a daily practice to check in with yourself is one of the most empowering things you do.
2. Acknowledge Your Power
Right now, you have an innate and unlimited wellspring of abilities, potential and power. It could be physical, mental, spiritual, emotional, social, or beyond. Open your heart and acknowledge that you already have the abilities you want within you.
3. Focus On Who You Are
Stop comparing yourself to others. Stop trying to be who others want you to be or how you think you should be and focus on who YOU are. Allowing yourself to be exactly who you are is empowering.
4. Love What You Do
Doing what you love, prioritizing yourself, and making time to do what you love, is the key to self-empowerment.
5. Do Nothing
You can name your empowerment if you’d like. You can also struggle and challenge yourself. Or, you can do nothing but simply sit still and know that you are empowered right now.
Self-empowerment can be transformative because it fosters personal growth, confidence, self-reliance and self-trust. And it's a journey that can begin right now. Let's go!
